by | F2B Podcast

Do you ever wonder how to put what you’ve learned into action? In this episode, I introduce a series where we’ll be discussing some of the systems that I have used to grow my business and my life over the past few years, and to make use of what I have read and heard from others.

Good morning friends.  Thank you for listening to the podcast.  I am on the go this morning recording this and I wanted to share with you a brief introduction to a little series that we’re going to be going through here on the podcast that I am super excited about.  I hope to get you excited about it as well.

In my life one of the things that I have found is that I love to use systems.  Of course, I read a lot.  You guys know that.  I read and I listen to a lot of podcasts.  In all of the content that I’ve consumed, whether it be things I’ve learned through courses, podcasts or books, I have picked up systems that I can take and use to implement in real life to help achieve results.  That’s one of the nice things about when you read non-fiction books, especially those that are about growth and development and things either personally or with your business, because a lot of times there are systems that you can pull out of those to integrate into your regular life to where you don’t have to remember everything you read in a book.

I read a lot of scholarly and research books because I’m interested in theology and things like that.  With those, I really have to be intentional about doing things to help me remember them and recall them.  But with a book, I feel like if I take away one good system or one good process, or one good category of thinking things when it comes to growth and development, business or personal, then I feel like it was really worth the time to read the book and understand the concept around it.

RECOMMENDED:  Question your most basic assumptions

What I want to share with you in this series is, I’ve got a bunch of them written down so I’m not exactly sure how many it’s going to be, but I’ve got a whole series worth of these frameworks, each one is 2 or 3 steps, and a couple of them might be in that 4-6 step range, most of them are just 2 or 3 steps, across different areas of my life that have helped me grow.  I want to share those with you and help you, maybe even think about implementing some of them into your life.  I will give you resources on how to go deeper with each of these different frameworks as we begin learning about them.

In the next episode, I’m going to introduce the first one of those to you.  I would tell you what it is right now, but I’m not sure.  I’m not looking at it, I’m driving.  I’m not going to go ahead and tell you which one it is quite yet, but I will have that coming out for you very soon.  Stay tuned for that.

You should use systems and you should use the knowledge that other folks have worked hard to learn.  They say that when you read a book, on average, this is just a rough number, on average you are taking part in about 5 years’ worth of knowledge accumulation on the part of the person whom you are reading.  So on average, when somebody writes a book, it took them 5 years or so to accumulate the knowledge that you are reading about and they are distilling to you.  We don’t want to take that for granted.  I think getting these systems that I’m going to be speaking to you about and starting to utilize them are a great way to not take that for granted and to use that information well.

RECOMMENDED:  The power of noticing

God bless you guys.  I’m excited to talk to you.  In the next episode, we’ll start with the first of those systems.
